Yalu iOS 10.2 / 10.2.1 Jailbreak – The first iOS 10 & 10.2 Official Jailbreak Released!
Hot on heels of source code getting posted yesterday, Luca has posted the early build of tool on his website. Work on GitHub code proceeded fast after the posting last night, and with Todesco or others merging many commits that will enable Substrate, and add device support, as well as streamline this tool.
About Yalu Jailbreak tool
Yalu Jailbreak tool currently sits in Beta 7, and isn’t expected to get perfect. It still has a lot of bugs, and doesn’t yet support 64bit devices. But, Todesco has commented due to new methods that it uses it must be very stable than Beta 3 of their previous tool that was for the iOS 10.
Device support extends at:
- iPhone 6s+
- iPhone 6s
- iPad Pro
- iPhone SE
- iPod Touch 6G
- iPad Mini 2 / iPad Mini 3 / iPad Mini 4
- iPad Pro / iPad Air 2
The community members have also added offsets (that give support for some other devices) to code but don’t work yet, since code needs more modifications from the Todesco. He already has stated and he cannot make such changes till the weekend, since he needs to test on their devices. It includes all the 4k devices (the memory page size and not the screen resolution) that is each device earlier than & including iPhone 6. It’s for such reason that supported device list is been restricted to the 16k devices. When Todesco has updated this code, offsets added by others may bring iPhone 6 & iPhone 5s in fold, and with 64bit devices that are joining as offsets are been added.
The edition of tool must work on all the iOS 10 versions to iOS 10.2 for devices listed. It doesn’t work for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, however when it gets finished it can support them on the iOS 10 versions to iOS 10.1.1, and not 10.2. All the 64bit of devices are been expected to get supported eventually.
Do you need to use it?
The Yalu for 10.2 has the Cydia Substrate enabled, and without dubious ha*cks that people were using on previous betas, as well as must offer stability than earlier betas as well. Whereas I personally will wait some days for the stability reasons, it must not be very dangerous to try tool now, if you have the supported device, while 10.2 is getting signed. Before iOS 10.2 signing the window closes, I will recommend going to stock 10.2 & awaiting final (gamma) release, although, it is on you. You must move up through releases without any problem.
Currently, tool will be installed by downloading this from the Todesco’s website & side-loading this on your device by using the Cydia Impactor. You may need Apple ID for that. Suppose you’re unsure as how you can go about that, give it one miss. In a meantime, if you are unsure as what type of OS version you want to be at and what action to take, you can check out updated guide that talks through options you have about updating, restoring as well as jailbreaking. But, fact remains as alpha release, it’s will get stable with time, that when you encounter problems using such build, you won’t get sympathy from anybody.
